Can anyone receive an implant?

Anyone can receive an implant, whose general health condition would allow a strain egual to a tooth extraction and is committed to appropriate oral hygiene. Another important factor is the shape of your jaw  at the area where your teeth should be replaced. Implantation also requires a certain amount of bone. While there is no upper age limit, the treatment is not advised for patients under sixteen as until this age the skull may still grow. Options should be evaluated individually in the case of heavy smokers, those who suffer from uncontrolled chronic illness (diabethes, diseases of the cardiovascular system) and those who have received chemotherapy on the areas of the head or the neck.

What are the advantages of implantation?

• This way we can avoid scaling healthy teeth
• Instead of removable prosthesis a fixed prosthesis can be used.
• In case of using removable dental prosthesis, the implant prevents it from dislodging, from being instable.
• It stops the erosion of the jaw bone (following extractions both the width and the height of the bone may decrease: the bone erodes). The implant stops this process, and the effect on the bone will be very similar to the original, natural pressure. The same is true to the gum, which has a great part in the appearance of the replacement.

Can I be a smoker and still get an implant?

Implants are not ideal for smokers and  alot of the time their implants fail. It is not to say that an implant wont be done on this patient, but it is advised that if you are looking into a dental implant that you take care of your oral hygiene and try to smoke less.

How long can implants last?

We ensure implants from 5 to 10 years but if you take good care of your implants they can last a life time.
