How can I keep the implant clean?
The implant does not require any special attention another than thorough cleaning. Your dentist will provide the necessary dental care at the annual check-ups.
The ring formed by your gum around the implant will prevent food and plaque get under the gum line and thus next to the implant. For successful implantation good oral hygiene is extremely important. While brushing your teeth at least twice a day, do not ignore cleaning the neck of the implant: this is the part which touches the gum at the edge of the crown.
The thorough cleaning of the area under the body of the bridge may require a special brush. For the areas that are not easily accessible, it is highly recommended to use dental floss.
Why are dental crowns necessary?
A dental crown is necessary in the following cases:

To protect an injured tooth (eg. with cavity) from breaking or to hold the broken parts of a tooth together.

What preparation is necessary before receiving a dental crown?
Preparation for a crown usually requires two visits to the dentist: the first step means examining and preparing the tooth, while at the second appointment the crown is fixed.
Do dental crowns require special care?
While a crowned tooth does not require any special care, remember that simply because a tooth is crowned does not mean the underlying tooth is protected from decay or gum disease. Therefore, continue to follow good oral hygiene practices, including brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing once a day-especially around the crown area where the gum meets the tooth.
